GLSL Audio & Motion Reactive Particle System

I built this GLSL particle system in TouchDesigner that responds to physical motion and any internal audio signal.

The audio amplitude causes the particle source to oscillate horizontally in the bottom left corner of the screen, producing a waving effect. Audio also influences a procedural noise which in turn affects the colour. The physical motion drives the external force of the system, producing greater turbulence when motion is detected.

Particle System with moving attractor

I used the hand tracking functionality within TouchDesigner’s Kinect node to influence the position of a particle emitter and attractor.

The left hand moves the particle emitter, whilst the right hand moves the attractor (see video).

Body Tracked Smoke Simulation

Using TouchDesigner’s fire simulation node I created this real time flame effect that moves with body position.
